Diy Turmeric

Turmeric just might make you feel better.

Turmeric is a type of spice that you can purchase in any grocery store across the country. It is also a very common ingredient that you can find in Indian-style cuisine. However, in various cultures and areas of alternative medicine, turmeric is used as much more than a spice to make food taste better and have a richer color. It is used to help heal people and to alleviate various types of ailments and pain.

Instructions

1. Decide if turmeric can help your ailment. Turmeric can treat conditions as a form of alternative medicine. Conditions include: inflammation, viral infections, tumor growth, diabetes, and stomach problems. It may also help prevent Alzheimer's, lung problems, high cholesterol, hear failure, colitis and certain skin conditions.

2. Consider turmeric for its basic health effects if you do not suffer from or are not at risk for the above conditions. Anti-inflammatory foods in general can be beneficial to your health. Turmeric is also an antioxidant.

3. Make an appointment to meet with your regular physician if you are unsure how turmeric will affect you. Your doctor might also be able to help you determine if you are at risk for any of the above health conditions.

4. Consume turmeric. Add the spice turmeric to your food. Turmeric does not have a strong taste, so it can be easily added to many foods including sauces, casseroles and stir fry. Indian food is an excellent way to add turmeric to your diet. Many Indian recipes already include turmeric as an ingredient, and generally, you can add it yourself to almost any savory Indian dish.

5. Take the supplement form if you prefer. There is no one correct dosage for a turmeric supplement, but an example would be taking 500 milligrams four times per day. Your doctor can help you determine the right dosage for you and your purposes.
