Attach A Snow Blower To A John Deere 316

The John Deere snowblower is used for clearing large amounts of snow and is sturdy enough to handle medium-sized snow banks.

Nowadays, lawnmowers can do more than mow lawns. With the help of a few manufacturer attachments, anyone can transform a lawn mower into a new machine. John Deere has produces various attachments for enhancing the basic lawn mower. The John Deere snowblower fits easily onto a range of different lawn mower models, including the 316 lawn tractor. A specialist is not required for installation, and the process can be completed in a matter of minutes with a few basic tools already supplied by the manufacturer.

Instructions

1. Place the snowblower attachment for the John Deere 316 in front of the tractor.

2. Turn on the tractor and adjust the lawn mower lift to a raised position with the mower lift handle. Turn the mower off when finished, raising the mower.

3. Position the blower's mounting frame on top of the John Deere 316 snowblower attachment. Be sure to line it with the frame of the tractor.

4. Lift the rear of the mounting frame's upper half to connect it to the tractor's frame.

5. Slide the tractor frame onto the bolts protruding from the frame.

6. Position the V-belt around the tractor engine's drive pulley, then attach the mounting frame's lower half to the tractor's mounting brackets with clevis fasteners and cotter pins. To do so, the clevis fasteners must be secured with cotter pins inserted through the U-shaped piece that has holes at the end of the clevis' prongs. This will make the clevis act like a bolt. Make sure the V-belt is properly routed around the drive pulley and attached snow blower.

7. Connect the snowblower's support to the tractor's side, with additional clevis fasteners and cotter pins, to finish the installation process.
