Amana Self Cleaning Oven Instructions
Amana self-cleaning ovens offer low-maintenance cleanup for burned-on food spills and messes. Regular cooking and baking can cause a buildup of food and grease, leaving your oven dirty and unattractive. Excess buildup can also affect the oven's performance. Amana self-cleaning ovens use extremely high heat to burn away tough spills and messes, without the need for harsh oven cleaners or chemicals. Regular cleaning can keep your oven looking and operating like new.
Instructions
1. Turn off the oven and allow it to cool.
2. Remove the oven racks, broiler pan and any other items from inside or on top of the oven, and from the storage drawer.
3. Wipe the inside of the oven door edge using a cloth dampened with water. Wipe the inside 1 1/2-inch area around the edge of the oven cavity frame. Don't clean the gasket.
4. Close the oven door, and press the Self Clean button.
5. Press the More or Less arrow buttons to choose a cleaning time. The options range from 2 hours and 30 minutes to 4 hours and 30 minutes, available in 15-minute increments. Choose the time based on the amount of soil.
6. Press the Start button to begin the cleaning cycle. The oven door automatically locks and stays locked until the cycle completes and the oven cools down.
7. Open the oven door and wipe out any ashes using a cloth dampened with water. Replace the oven racks and any other items.
