Remove Radio From 2002 Bravada

There are two primary reasons why you would want to remove the factory radio from the dash of your 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada. The first is to replace the radio with an aftermarket model, and the second is to gain access to the wiring for the purpose of adding amplifiers or other options to the radio. Whatever the reason, you should be able to do the job yourself with some basic tools and a little time.

Instructions

1. Remove any media from the radio. Set the parking brake and take the key out of the ignition.

2. Open the center console. Take out the rubber coin tray and the rubber mat from the console. Remove the six Phillips screws from the interior of the console.

3. Loosen the T-15 Torx screw on the side of the gear shift knob. Pull the knob off. Pry around the edges of the gear shift trim and the center console and remove the trim piece. This will expose two screws.

4. Remove the two Phillips screws directly below the climate controls.

5. Pry around the edges of the receiver and climate control trim piece with a panel tool. Pull off the trim piece.

6. Remove the four 7-mm bolts from the perimeter of the radio. Pull the radio out of the dash and disconnect the wiring on the back.
