Proper Method to Charge Lithium Ion Batteries
Lithium ion batteries have several advantages over other rechargeable batteries. They can hold more power in a smaller size, they provide a higher voltage level than most other rechargeable batteries, and they also lose their charge slower when they are stored. However, you won't get these benefits from lithium ion batteries unless they are properly maintained. One thing you need to learn do is to charge your battery properly so that you get the longest number of charge cycles as possible from it.
Instructions
1. Drain the lithium-ion battery to its lowest level before charging it. If there is a battery indicator light on the product that uses the battery, wait until the indicator is at its lowest setting. If there is no indicator, wait until the product's performance suffers or stops.
2. Plug the battery into the battery charger and plug the battery charger into a working electrical socket.
3. Leave the battery on the charger until it is fully charged. If there is an indicator light that tells you when the battery is charged, remove the battery when it indicates a full charge. If there is no indicator, leave the battery on the charger for a minimum of three hours and up to eight hours.
4. Remove the battery from the charger and unplug the charger. Install the battery into the product and continue to use it until the battery is fully drained again.
