A .bin file can be anything from a copy of a CD or DVD to the ROM data for a video game. It's sort of a catch all type of binary file and there are many types of programs that use this format. Some devices that use BIN files accept SD cards, such as game consoles or smartphones. You may find yourself wanting to transfer BIN files from your computer onto an SD. You can transfer the file using the standard Windows copy and paste technique.
Instructions
1. Insert the SD card into the SD card reader on your computer.
2. Open the "Computer" window by clicking the "Start" button on the Windows task bar and clicking "Computer".
3. Click on the drive letter of your SD card. The window will display a list of files and folders on the card. If you need to place the BIN file in a specific folder, double click on the folder to open it.
4. Locate the BIN file on your computer. You can do a search for the file name by clicking on "Start" and typing the name of the file in the window at the bottom. Initiate the search by clicking the magnifying glass icon.
5. Click the file with your left mouse button. Hold the button down and drag the file over the "Computer" window to load the file to the SD card.
