Insert A Memory Card In Your Computer

Read the data on your memory card on a computer system.

Memory cards are small, flash-based storage devices that not only are used by computers, but most other portable audio/video based devices. These cards slide into the available memory card slot on the computer and allow you to import the saved data from the card onto the system (or from the system onto the card). Inserting the memory card only requires a second or two and the computer instantly detects the new removable storage device.

Instructions

1. Check the memory card slot on your computer to make sure it matches the memory card you have. This information is found in the computer's user manual.

2. Remove the plastic cover over the memory card slot. This is done by inserting your fingernail under the cover and pulling up.

3. Slide the memory card into the open card slot. Push it in completely until it locks into place. In a moment, the computer states that it has detected a new removable device.

4. Click "Start," "(My) Computer" and double-click the removable device icon. A window appears with all of the information from the memory card listed.
