Make A Tripod For Cheap

Cheaply made tripods allow you to better capture images.

A tripod is a device used to stabilize a camera so better images can be captured. Without a tripod, images that require a longer shutter speed, such as waterfalls or fireworks, will come out blurry. Professional tripods can be expensive, bulky and heavy, making them difficult to use in day to day life. Homemade tripods have the benefit of being cheap to make and small enough to carry in a backpack without much additional weight.

Instructions

1. Drill a hole into the middle of your bottle cap. The hole should be large enough to fit the 1/4-inch hex bolt through it.

2. Attach a washer to the bolt. Screw the bottle cap onto the bolt so the end of the bolt sticks up through the top of the bottle cap.

3. Attach another washer to the top of the bolt sticking up through the cap. Tighten the nut on top of the washer.

4. Fill your plastic bottle with water or sand. This will prevent the bottle from tipping over when you attach the camera.

5. Screw your camera onto the bolt using the tripod attachment on the bottom of the camera. Your tripod will now be ready to use.
