Use Pictbridge

Use PictBridge

Digital cameras represent the ultimate in flexibility and convenience. This is particularly true if you have a digital camera and printer that support the PictBridge standard. PictBridge allows you to print from your camera to your printer, eliminating the need for a computer.

Instructions

1. Obtain a compatible cable that allows a connection between the digital camera and a standard USB port. If you already connect your camera to your PC, use the same cable you use for this task.

2. Identify the option on your digital camera that facilitates camera-to-printer printing. For example, certain Canon PowerShot models include a Print/Share button that enables one-touch printing. Certain devices require you to specifically select a PictBridge setting to transfer pictures to the printer.

3. Load the photo paper into the printer.

4. Insert one end of the cable into the camera and insert the other end into the printer. Turn on the printer and then turn on the camera.

5. Use your camera's display to select the picture you want to print. Use the camera's options to select the correct paper size and the number of copies you wish to print. Depending on your camera, you might be able make some adjustments, such as cropping, to the photo.

6. Print the picture using the camera's print function.
