Gps Tomtom Go 930 Description

The TomTom GO 930 is a Global Positioning System (GPS) with advanced features such as IQ Routes, Voice Address Input, Enhanced Positioning Technology, Bluetooth remote and phone connectivity, text-to-speech, Traffic Message Channel & TomTom Traffic, Advanced Lane Control and a special Fold & Go Easy Port Mount. The GO 930 has the largest TomTom screen available at 4.3 inches and is relatively expensive. The device also includes TomTom Map Share, which allows you to share maps with a social network.

IQ Routes

IQ Routes take the best route available, based on actual average road speeds. It uses historical information about traffic speeds on the road.

Voice Address Input

The TomTom 930 allows you to use voice address input to say the address you want to go to rather than having to tap the screen. It also understands commands, like "Yes" and "No."

Enhanced Positioning Technology (EPT)

EPT estimates your location when the GPS signal is bad, such in cities with tall buildings, canyons or in heavy tree cover. It uses sensors to check acceleration and direction and then estimates where you are. The calibration occurs automatically.

Text-to-Speech

The TomTom 930 has a sophisticated text-to-speech technology where it looks at the entire sentence and replicates a human voice recorded by an actor, rather than a computer-like voice.

Bluetooth Connectivity

A mobile phone with Bluetooth can be used to make phone calls and send and receive texts. Once you have established a connection, you can copy over your phone's phonebook and make hands-free calls by tapping on the TomTom's screen. The Bluetooth is also used by the TomTom's remote control.

Traffic Message Channel and TomTom Traffic

Many radio stations broadcast Traffic Message Channel (TMC) data. Sometimes, it is called RDS-TMC traffic information. You can hook this TomTom up to an optionally available RDS-TMC traffic antenna. TomTom traffic is included on this device. It uses the data plan on your phone (3G, GPRS, EV-DO, etc.) The TomTom is connected to your phone via Bluetooth.

Advanced Lane Guidance

This TomTom shows you which lane you should be in as you prepare for freeway exits and road intersections. An image in the Driving View will show you which lane to take.
