Use A Tele Converter Lens On A Canon S3 Camera

While the lens on the Canon S3 cannot be removed, you can attach a teleconverter to it, using an adapter kit.

The Canon PowerShot S3 was released by Canon in February 2006. Canon refers to the camera as a "super zoom" compact camera that comes equipped with a 12x optical zoom lens. The camera features a six-megapixel CCD (charge coupled device) sensor and has the ability to capture still images as well as video. Although the lens is fixed to the camera, you can add a wide angle or tele converter to it when needed.

Instructions

1. Clean the front and rear elements of the tele converter, removing any dust and debris from the lens, before attaching the tele converter to the camera.

2. Turn the camera off, and while pressing and holding the release button located on the front right side of the camera, rotate the lens ring counterclockwise (if the camera is facing you) until the black dots on the camera and on the lens ring align with each other. Carefully remove the ring from the camera.

3. Attach the lens adapter to the lens by aligning the black dots on both the lens and the adapter. Screw the adapter on in a clockwise rotation until it is fully attached.

4. Attach the tele converter to the camera by screwing the tele converter to the adapter in a clockwise rotation until it is fully screwed on.

5. Turn the Canon PowerShot S3 on, and in the camera's menu select "Converter" and choose the type of lens attachment you have just installed on the camera. Press the "Menu" button to save your selection and you are ready to use the camera with the tele converter in place.
