Rode Nt Microphone Specs

The Rode company features Australian-designed and manufactured microphones. Rode NT microphones vary in make and model, and offer a diverse set of tools for recording audio in live and studio environments. The microphones listed below only make up a part of the NT microphone line as of November 2010.

Rode NTK

The Rode NTK is a Class A large diaphragm tube condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern, low self noise and a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 KHz. It features a maximum sound pressure level of 158 decibels and was designed to be used on vocals, drum overheads, piano, guitar amplifiers and acoustic instruments.

Rode NT2000

The Rode NT2000 is a large diaphragm transformerless condenser microphone with a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 KHz, a maximum sound pressure level of 147 decibels, a 10 dB pad (which extends the maximum SPL to 157 dB) and low self noise. The NT2000 also features a "continuously variable" polar pattern, meaning it can pick up sound from the front (cardioid), front and back (bi-directional), all sides (omnidirectional) or anywhere in between.

Rode NT1000

The Rode NT1000 is a large diaphragm transformerless condenser microphone with a fixed cardioid polar pattern, a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 KHz and a dynamic range with a maximum sound pressure level of 140 decibels. Its most common applications include vocal, drum overhead and grand piano recording.

Rode NT5

The Rode NT5 is a small diaphragm condenser microphone with a half-inch gold-sputtered capsule. It is often sold in pairs and was designed to be primarily used for acoustic instruments, cymbals and drum overheads. The microphone also comes with a windshield for use in live situations. It has a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 KHz and a maximum sound pressure level of 143 decibels.

Rode NT4

The Rode NT4 is a small diaphragm stereo condenser microphone with two matched half-inch capsules in a fixed X/Y stereo configuration, which eliminates the need to purchase a matched pair of microphones for stereo recording. Like the NT5, it has a frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 KHz and a maximum sound pressure level of 143 decibels.
