Install Sirius Radio In A Chevy Equinox

Attact the SIRIUS receiver onto your windshield in a spot that does not obstruct your vision.

SIRIUS Satellite Radio gives you access to hundreds of commercial-free, uncensored music, sports and entertainment channels if you are not content with your Chevy Equinox's stock radio. You may simultaneously put the stock radio to better use and save money by independently installing the SIRIUS Satellite Radio plug-and-play receiver. The SIRIUS Satellite Radio car installation kit has everything you need to connect the plug-and-play receiver and SIRIUS service to your Chevy Equinox.

Instructions

1. Choose a location inside your Chevy Equinox for the SIRIUS Satellite Radio plug-and-play receiver. Preview the SIRIUS Satellite Radio car installation kit's mounting alternatives and locations before deciding on one of either. The ultimate mounting position should be comfortably within the driver's reach and cannot impede any line of vision.

2. Install the SIRIUS Satellite Radio plug-and-play receiver's mount to your Chevy Equinox's dashboard, vent or windshield. Use the Phillips-head screwdriver to fasten the secondary mount of your choosing to the plug-and-play receiver's mount. Slide the vent mount onto one of the air vents on the driver's-side of the Chevy Equinox. You may also stick the suction cup mount directly behind the rear view mirror or off to the side of the windshield. As a final mounting option, you may wipe your flat dashboard destination area clean with an alcohol pad from the installation kit, peel the sticker from the base of the dashboard mount and press it down onto the surface. Keep in mind that the dashboard mount is permanent, unlike the vent clip and windshield suction cup.

3. Attach the adhesive or magnetic SIRIUS Satellite Radio antenna to your Chevy Equinox's roof. The antenna's location must be at least 3 inches from wires or metal racks in every direction.

4. Lift the Chevy Equinox's back door and slide the antenna's wire down into the weather stripping. Run the antenna's wire under your carpet to the SIRIUS Satellite Radio plug-and-play receiver's mounted location so that you do not trip on it. Insert the TRS end of the antenna's wire into the receiver mount's "Antenna" or "ANT" input port.

5. Connect the SIRIUS Satellite Radio plug-and-play receiver mount to power. Insert the power adapter into the Chevy Equinox's cigarette lighter. Insert the TRS end of the power adapter into the SIRIUS Satellite Radio plug-and-play receiver mount's "PWR" or "DC" jack.

6. Slide the SIRIUS Satellite plug-and-play receiver into the installed mount. Doing so gives the device both power and satellite signal. Turn the receiver on if it does not start upon connection.

7. Turn the Chevy Equinox's stock radio to the frequency shown on the SIRIUS Satellite Radio plug-and-play receiver. Doing so allows you to hear SIRIUS Satellite Radio audio through your existing stereo system.

8. Call the customer service number displayed on your SIRIUS Satellite Radio plug-and-play receiver to activate satellite radio service. The customer service number is also written in the receiver's owner's manual. You may activate the service from the SIRIUS website if you would rather not call customer support.
