Delete Songs From A Zune & Then Add Them Again

The Zune (pronounced "zoon") is Microsoft's answer to Apple's popular iPod. The Zune originally came in a boxy 30-gigabyte model, but that make has since been discontinued. Today, there are five Zune models available, ranging in size from 4 gigabytes to 120 gigabytes. If you're new to Zune, or to MP3 players in general, it can be a little confusing trying to manage your music collection, especially when it comes to adding and removing songs from your player. Fortunately, it's not very difficult to figure out the process once you get started.

Instructions

Deleting Songs from Your Zune

1. Connect your Zune to a computer via the USB cable that came with the Zune. The Zune software should auto-start when the device is connected. If not, run the software manually.

2. Click the Zune icon in the lower left corner of the screen to bring up the media on your Zune player.

3. Select the "Music" tab at the top of the screen to display all the music on your Zune.

4. Choose the songs you wish to remove, right click them, and select "Delete from (name of your Zune player)."

Adding Songs Back onto Your Zune

5. Open the Zune software on your desktop. (If you are already in the Zune software, navigate to your main collection page.)

6. Click the "Music" tab at the top of the screen.

7. Select the music files you wish to add to your Zune.

8. Click and drag the selected items down to the Zune icon in the lower left corner to start the process of adding -- or "syncing" -- the selected songs onto your Zune. When the syncing is complete, your tunes are available on your Zune to listen to at your leisure.
