Troubleshoot A Sansonic Atsc Converter Box

The Sansonic converter box was designed to allow analog televisions to access digital channels, which was necessary after the analog to digital program broadcasting switch. If you use a TV with an antenna, you will need to connect it to a converter box such as this. If you are having problems with your Sansonic ATSC converter box, there are troubleshooting methods that should fix them.

Instructions

1. Change the batteries in the remote, making sure to place the positive and negative sides in as directed.

2. Make sure your TV input mode is set to "AV-in," and then check that the AV cable connected to the box is securely plugged into your TV's "AV-in" port.

3. Put the TV on the proper channel, usually 3 or 4 (see your TV documentation to make sure). If nothing shows up on your channel or any other ones, contact your TV manufacturer for help.

4. Rescan the ATSC program and check that the antenna connection is good by pressing the "ANT Level" button on the remote. The antenna RF signal strength and quality window will now appear on screen. If the signal strength and/or quality is low, check the connections between your antenna and converter box.

5. Press the "Mute" button if you're having sound problems to see if it was accidentally pushed, and then raise/lower the volume using the volume-up and volume-down buttons.

6. Reposition your antenna to a clear area and change its configuration a little bit by pointing it in a different direction or pointing it more straight up.

7. Consult the antenna's documentation to ensure the correct settings are in effect, as a wrong setting may prevent your converter box from receiving the right signals.
