Motorola Razr Tutorial

While it's not the cell phone juggernaut that it was when it was first released, the Motorola RAZR is still a very popular cell phone for wireless customers through virtually every wireless company. When it was released, the RAZR was one of the most advanced phones on the market. It's now been surpassed by an array of smart phones, but it's still a very functional phone with a lot of features. Here we'll take a look at some of the basics to get you going with your RAZR.

Turning Your RAZR On and Off

There is one button to remember when turning your phone on and off. The power button is located directly above the 3 button. To turn the phone on press and hold the button for a few seconds. To turn your RAZR off, press the power button and hold it for about two seconds.

Answering a Call

To answer an incoming all you have to do is locate and press the "send" button. The send button is located directly above the 1 key on your phone's number pad.

Making a Call

To make a direct call all you need to do is dial the number you want to call and press the "send" button, which is located directly above the 1 key. To make a call to someone that is saved in your RAZR's phonebook you must first press the "right soft key," which is located in the top right corner of the phone's key pad right below the screen. Use the navigation key--the circular key located in the middle of the top key pad--to scroll up or down through your phonebook. When you find the person you want to call press the send key.

Ending a Call

There are two very simple ways to end a call. The first option is to press the "power/end key," which is located on the right side of the phone, directly below the right soft key. The quicker way is to simply fold your phone shut.

Text messaging

Sending a text message on a RAZR is a fairly simple process, although there are a couple of steps to it. First press the center select key, which is located in the middle of the navigation key. Use the navigation key to scroll to "messaging" and press the center select key again. From there scroll to "create message" and press the center select key again. Finally scroll to "new short message" and press the center select key. When typing your message, each number on the phone's number pad represents a set of letters. Press the number key that represents the letter you want to type. For example, if you want to type the letter S, press the 7 key four times. Press options to add contacts to the message or to bring up the option to send the message.
