Make A Windows Slideshow

While there is a multitude of productivity software for slideshow creation using your photo collection, Windows operating systems have a default slideshow creator. The built-in tool creates a basic slideshow using the photos stored in your Pictures folder, and can be enlarged for a full-screen view of your custom slideshow. The feature is found in newer operating systems including Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, and is configurable using the slideshow's playback settings.

Instructions

1. Click the Windows "Start" menu on your desktop's taskbar and click "Pictures.

2. Hold down the "Ctrl" key on your keyboard and click the pictures you wish to include in the slideshow. The picture is highlighted in blue when it is included in the selection.

3. Click "Slideshow" at the top of the dialog box to begin the picture slideshow. Click the slideshow while it is playing to proceed to the next image, or press the right arrow key on your keyboard.

4. Right-click the picture in the slidesdisplay the slideshow's menu. Click "Pause" to freeze the progression of the images, or press the spacebar on your keyboard. Click "Back" to return to the previous image in the slideshow or press the keyboard's left arrow key.

5. Click "Shuffle" to re-order the arrangement of pictures. Click "Loop" to continuously loop the slideshow, and click the menu underneath the Loop option to adjust the speed of the slideshow.

6. Click "Exit" to return to the Pictures folder on your desktop.
