Wire A Pyramid Equalizer

Pyramid equalizers are used in car audio systems to provide a greater degree of control over the system. The equalizer takes the output of the car receiver, modifies it according to the user's settings and then sends the resulting output to external car amplifiers. Wiring the equalizer is simply a matter of installing it in the pre-existing configuration of your system.

Instructions

1. Unplug the RCA patch cords running between your car receiver and your amplifier at the amplifier end. Plug the red and white jacks on the end of the cords into the "Hi Input" jacks on the Pyramid equalizer.

2. Plug a set of RCA jacks into the output jacks of the Pyramid equalizer. Plug the other end of the RCA patch cords into the input jacks of the amplifier (these are the same jacks you connected the first set of RCA cables from).

3. Loosen the screw terminals on your amplifier for "PWR+," "GND-" and "REM." Slide the wires from the Pyramid equalizer's wiring plug into the terminals, matching the red wire to "PWR+," the black wire to "GND-" and the orange wire to "REM." Tighten the screws to hold the wires.
