Lower The Megapixels On The Canon Sx30

The 14-megapixel Canon SX30 IS digital camera has several image size settings that you can change according to your needs. The higher the image size you select, the more memory the picture takes up on your storage card. If you are running out of space on your storage card and you can't delete any pictures or transfer them to a computer, lower the picture image size to continue taking pictures with your Canon SX30.

Instructions

1. Press the "Func./Set" button, which is located in the middle of the directional buttons on the back of the Canon SX30, to open the main menu. A row of icons appears on the left side of the screen.

2. Push the up or down navigation buttons until the "L" icon is highlighted. This is the image size icon. Your current image size is highlighted in a new menu bar that appears across the bottom of the screen.

3. Press the right navigation button to highlight one of the lower megapixel image size options. The largest size option is "L," at approximately 14 megapixels. The remaining megapixel sizes, from largest to smallest, are "W," at approximately 8 megapixels; "M1," at approximately 7 megapixels; "M2," at approximately 2 megapixels; and "S," at approximately 0.3 megapixels.

4. Push "Func./Set" to save your setting.
