Work In Continuous Shot Mode On A Fuji S8100

The continuous shooting mode can help capture that perfect action photo.

To use a FujiFilm Finepix S8100 digital camera for action pictures or when taking portraits, use the camera's continuous shooting mode. This allows the camera to shoot pictures in rapid-fire succession, capturing a sequence of images when you don't have a lot of time to think and react to the subject's movement. It also can be handy for getting people to act more natural for portraits, as they're not anticipating the shutter being fired. The S8100 offers five continuous shooting modes that range from three-picture bursts up to dozens of pictures.

Instructions

1. Press the down arrow button on the "4 Direction" button to enter the continuous shooting menu.

2. Use the up and down arrows on the"4 Direction" button to choose one of the five continuous shooting options available; then press the center "OK" button. What options are available to you depends on which shooting mode is currently active.

3. Click on the "Long Period" option, marked with three solid squares if you want to shoot a long string of pictures. This is the only mode in which the camera will reset the focus and exposure settings each time it fires. This option is compatible with every shooting mode except "Natural and Flash" and "Auction."

4. Select the "Top 3" option, marked with the camera icon, if you want to take a quick burst of pictures. This mode will only shoot up to three pictures and is compatible with every shooting mode except "Natural and Flash" and "Auction." The camera will not refocus or change the exposure settings.

5. Pick the "Bracketing" option, marked with a black box, gray box and white box, if you are unsure about lighting conditions. This mode will take three pictures at three different exposures, allowing you to choose the image that looks the best. This mode is compatible only in manual, automatic, shutter-priority or aperture-priority modes, not with any of the camera's scene modes.

6. Select the "Top 33 5M" option, marked with an "M," for high-speed shooting. This setting allows the camera to take up to 33 pictures at once. The pictures are lower-quality and a maximum image size of 5 megapixels. This option is compatible with every shooting mode except "Natural and Flash" and "Auction."

7. Select the "Top 33 3M" option, marked with an "H," for even higher-speed shooting. This setting also allows the camera to take up to 33 pictures at once. The pictures are low-quality and a maximum image size of 3 megapixels. This option is compatible with every shooting mode except "Natural and Flash" and "Auction."
