Quick Disconnect A Cb Antenna

"Break 1/9 for a radio check." Although citizens band radios had their heyday in the late 1970s, commercial truck drivers have continued to use them. Because cellular phones are still spotty at times during travel, CB radios have begun to be used again by the general public, too. Quick disconnect CB antennas can quickly be removed from the mounting area, typically outside the trunk of a car or on the top of a pickup truck's tool box. Several types of quick disconnect systems are on the market, and most do not even require tools for removal.

Instructions

1. Open the trunk or tool box where the antenna is mounted. The quick disconnect is located on the inside of the trunk or underneath the toolbox lid.

2. Grasp the base of the antenna disconnect, push it up, and then twist it to the left to unlock.

3. Pull the disconnect down and away after hearing the click of the lock disengaging.

4. Remove the antenna from the outside of the trunk or tool box and store it inside the trunk or in the tool box.
