Use A Cabletomonitor Converter

Televisions usually access cable programming through a cable box. This box connects to televisions through an RCA cable or a coaxial cable, depending on the type of television used. If you want to connect your cable box to a computer monitor instead of a TV, you can do so easily by using a converter cable.

Instructions

1. Connect the three RCA ends of your RCA-to-VGA converter cable to the three RCA output ports on the back of your cable box.

2. Connect the VGA end of the converter cable to the VGA port on the back of the computer monitor.

3. Turn on your computer monitor and cable box. You should see the video signal from the cable box on your monitor.

4. Connect one end of the audio RCA cables to the red and white output ports on your cable box. Then connect the other end of the cables to an audio source, such as a speaker or a television, and turn it on. Because VGA is a video-only signal, you need audio RCA cables to transmit the audio signal from the cable box.
