The Memory Stick is a memory card introduced by Sony in the late-1990s. It is sometimes used to describe all memory cards, but a Memory Stick is actually shaped differently than other types of memory cards. There are many digital cameras that are compatible with Memory Sticks. A Memory Stick, however, has limited storage capacity. Once the stick's memory is full, you must delete images to make room for more.
Instructions
1. Insert the Memory Stick into a compatible memory card slot. Some computers have slots that are compatible with Memory Sticks. If there is no compatible slot, insert the Memory Stick into a memory card reader and plug the reader to the computer's USB port. If your digital camera uses Memory Sticks, insert the device into the camera's slot. This slot is often on the camera's side or underneath the battery cover. Then connect the camera to the computer's USB port using its USB cable.
2. Open the Memory Stick drive folder. Select the "Computer" or "My Computer" folder in the desktop Start menu. Then select the removable disk drive that represents the Memory Stick, the connected memory card reader or the connected camera.
3. Delete the images. Right-click on any image that you want to remove and select "Delete" from the drop-down menu on the computer.
