The HTC myTouch 3G Slide is a bar-style mobile phone that gives you the choice of a touch screen or sliding out a full keyboard. The myTouch 3G Slide is available exclusively to users on the T-Mobile wireless network and was released in the spring of 2010. Since T-Mobile uses GSM technology, you need a SIM card in order for the myTouch 3G Slide to recognize your phone number.
Screen and Battery
The myTouch 3G Slide has a TFT touch screen that measures 3.4 inches diagonally. The screen shows images at a resolution of 320 pixels by 480 pixels and has 16-bit color to display 65,000 different colors. The 3G Slide has a lithium ion battery with a capacity of 1,300 mAh, or milliamp hours. Milliamp hours measure battery life, which is nearly seven hours of usage and 12 days of standby mode.
Internet and Storage
The myTouch 3G Slide connects to the Edge network at a speed of 236.8 kilobytes per second and T-Mobile's 3G network at a speed of 7.2 megabytes per second. The myTouch can also pick up connections through Wi-Fi. The phone has internal storage of 512 megabytes, though you can reach up to 16 gigabytes of storage with a memory card. The phone's memory capacity allows you to enter as many phone book entries and numbers as you want.
Media
The myTouch 3G Slide has a 5.0-megapixel digital camera with a flash for dim lighting. The autofocus feature allows you to focus on a specific person while taking a photo. All images taken are at a resolution of 2,592 pixels by 1,944 pixels. The phone also has an Android media player that plays MP3, WAV and eAAC+ audio files. The media player also plays MP4, H.264 and H.263 video files.
Other Features
The myTouch uses the Android 2.1 operating system and has a 600-MHz processor. The phone also has document viewing features so you can look at files from Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat PDF Viewer. The 3G Slide also has voice search capability, so you can go to the phone's search engine and look for things by saying them aloud. The calendar function lets you input days and appointments you need to remember.
