Instructions For Programing Rca Remote Controls

RCA has long been one of the leading producers of televisions and television equipment. Most, if not all, RCA television purchases come accompanied by a remote control. This remote can be programmed to use not only the television but other devices as well, such as VCRs and DVD players.

Selecting the Device

First, you need to make sure the device you want the RCA remote to control is hooked up to the television. From there, manually power on the device (do not use the device's remote if there is one). Hold down the "Code Search" button, until the remote blinks several times. Once this has happened, press the button of the device you want to connect (such as "DVD," "TV," or "AUX"), but make sure you keep holding down the "Code Search" button.

Inputting the Device

Now that the kind of device has been selected and the remote is primed, type in the three-digit code for the device you want the remote to control. A link provided in "Resources" will lead you to the a listing of all the codes available. Release the "Code Search" button once the code has been typed in.

Using the Device

Now that the code has been set, you should be able to used the RCA remote for the device. Press a few different buttons to see if the device reacts. If it does, you know the programming has worked. If not, you may need to attempt the programming again. Sometimes a button can be pressed that shouldn't have, or the code may have been wrong.
