Types
There are two categories of digital cameras; Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras (DSLR) and the compact point and shoot digital camera.
Features
Digital cameras offer the option to set the resolution, or image quality level. They also allow users to switch between film speed for each photo, unlike when using a roll of film.
Image Storage
Digital cameras do not require film. They use a portable media card to store and retrieve digital images. Common media card types include compact flash (CF), secure digital (SD) and multi media card (MMC).
Visual Identification
The back of a digital camera will have a LCD screen to preview the photographs. Other features on the camera will resemble a film-based camera.
