Record With A Teac Double Cassette Recorder

Though advances in compact disc and digital technology have made cassette tapes obsolete, many people still use cassette tapes to record sound. TEAC double cassette recorders offers users a convenient method for recording radio broadcasts and dubbing prerecorded cassette tapes. The recorders have several options for recording either type of content, such as continuous recording and high speed dubbing of prerecorded cassette tapes.

Instructions

Recording Stereo

1. Press the "Power" button to turn system on and choose either "AM" or "FM" broadcast.

2. Move the "Dolby NR" switch to "On" or "Off." The Dolby selection boosts the higher end of the sound frequency, which is useful if the sound you are listening to sounds low or muffled.

3. Place the blank cassette tape in the second tape deck. Recording is only available on the second tape deck.

4. Choose if you want to record on one side or both sides of the cassette tape with the "Reverse Mode" switch. To record on one side, choose the symbol of a two lines. Select the symbol with the lines connected to form a sideways "U" if you want to record on both sides. The third symbol of a loop is only used for playback.

5. Start recording by pressing the "Record" button. The recording indicator light will turn on.

6. Turn the "Rec Level" knob to set the recording level. The "dB" indicator lights will glow as the sound is recorded. For best recordings, adjust the recording level so the loudest sound only reaches "0 dB."

7. Press the "Stop" button to stop recording, or it will stop automatically when it reaches the end of one or both sides of the cassette, depending on your settings.

Dubbing Cassettes

8. Turn the system on and insert a prerecorded cassette tape in the first deck and a blank cassette in the second deck. Recording is only available on the second deck.

9. Press the "Normal" button under "Dubbing Start" to dub the cassette in normal time. Choose the "High" button to dub the cassette at high speed.

10. Stop the dubbing process by pressing the "Stop" button. If you do not press the "Stop" button, the dubbing process will stop when one of the tapes reaches the end.
