Setup Instructions For A Polycom Sound Station 2w

A fully charged console battery allows for 24 hours of talk time.

Trying to organize projects with clients involving several individual phone conversations can be a hassle. Setting up a conference unit in your office can make meetings and discussions a lot easier using Polycom's SoundStation2W conference system. Following a few simple steps can have your office communicating as a team in no time. Use the instructions below as a guide in connecting your phone line, powering the device, mounting the parts, readying the console for a cell phone connection and testing the device to make sure you've set it up correctly.

Instructions

1. Connect the AC adapter cord into the SoundStation2W base (into the jack on the left edge of the device close to the label "Polycom"). Plug the pronged end of the adapter into a wall outlet. Plug the analog phone cord into the SoundStation2W base (into the port located on the right side of the device).

2. Turn the SoundStation2W console over so that the back is facing up. Open the battery chamber cover (located on the right side of the device) by pulling on the clips with your fingers until the door hinges open. Connect the battery pack cord to the slot (that's shaped the same way) located inside the chamber, and then place the entire battery inside the chamber. Close the battery chamber door, turn the console right side up and allow some time for the console to register with the base station. When it does, you will hear a beep. Plug the charging unit into the console and allow it to charge for at least four hours for first-time use.

3. Mount the base and console, if you like. Mount the base station underneath the table where the console will reside as an option. Turn the base and console over to view the mounting holes. Use the appropriate mounting hardware and measurements to ensure a proper mount for either device.

4. Test your SoundStation2W to ensure you've hooked it up correctly. Place a call by first pressing the "Phone" key (located to the left of the numbered keys). Dial your number using the numbered keys on the console. A green indicator light should illuminate while the call is in progress. End the call by pushing the "Phone" key again. Answer a call by pushing the "Phone" key (the indicator light will be flashing green for an incoming call).

5. Set up the console to work with a cell phone by using the provided cell phone connector. Plug one end into your phone's headset jack and the other into the console's mobile phone input/output jack (located on the left side of the console). This can be done before the call or during the call. The console will automatically expand the call into a speaker format, and the LCD will display "Mobile Phone In" when properly connected.
