Install Windows Mobile Applications







One of the main draws of purchasing a Windows Mobile phone is taking advantage of the useful and fun applications that you can download to the device. Examples of popular applications used on Windows Mobile phones are Facebook, Microsoft Mobile Office, Live Search and Microsoft Outlook. If you are a new user, you may need some assistance on start installing Windows Mobile applications.


Instructions








1. Download the executable file to your PC. Find the application that you wish to install and download it onto your computer. The Windows Mobile site is the most popular source of application downloads. An installation file for the application will appear on your Windows desktop.


2. Connect your Windows Mobile phone to your PC, using the USB sync cable included with your device purchase. Once connected, open the installation file of the application by double-clicking on the icon.


3. Wait for installation to be complete. The ActiveSync dialog box will then open and browse your Windows Mobile device to determine which programs are already installed. Once the utility determines that the application is not on the phone, it will transfer the files through the sync cable. You can check the progress by viewing the "Installing Application" bar.


4. Disconnect the cable and turn on your phone. A window will instantly pop up and ask where you would like to install the new mobile application. You need to choose between internal memory and an external memory source, such as a memory card. Make your selection and finish the Windows Mobile application download by clicking "Install" on your phone.
