SDHC cards
hold more data than standard SD cards
SDHC cards designed for use with Canon's IXUS 55 digital camera have many other utilities as well. The SDHC format is widely used in several devices and can store any type of digital information desired.
Other Cameras
Digital cameras almost ubiquitously utilize the SD format, and SDHC card will work with several models other than the IXUS 55. Other Canon cameras such as the Powershot and Rebel line use these memory cards, as do cameras from Nikon, Sony and other manufacturers.
Computers
Many computers include a built-in SD slot compatible with SDHC cards. While commonly used to move photos from a digital camera, these slots can transfer any data from the PC, making the card as useful as any USB flash drive for storing and transporting files.
Other Devices
Video camcorders, even those with internal memory, often use SDHC card slots as alternate storage locations. Nintendo's Wii console and some older models of Sony's PlayStation 3 system include slots compatible with SCHC cards for saving game data.
