Is it possible to experience movies at home like you do at the theater? It sure is, if you have all of your audio visual components hooked together to form a home theater system. To start, you will need to connect your DVD player to your home theater system.
Instructions
1. Locate your AV receiver. You will be connecting your DVD player to your AV receiver.
2. Locate the input jacks for the AV receiver and the output jacks for your DVD player.
3. Find an RC cable that is long enough to reach from your AV receiver to your DVD player. Make sure that there is a little bit of slack in the cord, but not too much.
4. Connect the video outputs of your DVD player to the inputs of your AV receiver with the RC cable. Make sure that the cords are inserted in the same color combination that is on the jack (the red plug in the red jack, etc).
5. Connect your TV to the AV receiver's output jacks. Make sure that the output colors match, like they did when you connected your DVD player.
6. Test your DVD player with the home theater system. If the sound is not working, make sure that the audio cables are connected correctly. If the picture is not working, make sure that the visual cables are connected correctly.
