The Ion Profile Pro is a vinyl-to-MP3 turntable that allows users to listen to their records and convert tapes, LPs and other music to MP3 format. The device includes a hinged cover to protect the record player from dust. The included USB connection allows users to convert music to MP3s on a Mac or PC computer and listen to other music without a driver installation. The unit is sold on the Internet as well as appliance and electronic equipment stores. If problems with the Ion Profile Pro occur, some troubleshooting may be useful.
Instructions
1. Connect the Ion Profile Pro to a power supply and to a speaker system if you do not hear any music coming from the system. Turn the main power "On" to use the device. Place the needle on the record if listening to a record.
2. Connect the cartridge firmly to the tonearm if the sound quality is poor. Lift up the record and gently dust off the surface with a clean, soft cloth and try playing it again.
3. Set the correct audio playback settings if the music cannot be played back from the computer. On a PC, select "Start" and then "Control Panel" and then "Sounds and Audio Devices" or "Sound." Select the computer audio card for the sound playback device under "Audio." Alternatively, select "USB Audio Codec" as "Sound Playback" device to play the music back through the speakers on the Ion Pro.
4. Manually specify "Stereo" if using "Windows Vista" if the recordings are mono instead of stereo. Go to "Start" and then "Control Panel" and then "Sound" and then "Recording" tab and highlight the "Microphone" input. Click on "Properties" and then "Advanced" and select "2 Channel 16 bit 44100 Hz (CD quality" in "Default Format" pull-down menu. Click "Apply" to confirm.
5. Select a different speed setting if the music sounds too fast or too slow. Press "33 RPM" or "45 RPM" to change the speed setting.
