Retrieve your photographs with your camera's USB cord.
A digital camera has two types of memory: an internal memory and memory stored on a memory card. If you don't have a memory card inserted into your camera, the camera stores images in the internal memory. However, once you put a memory card into the camera, the camera ignores the internal memory and stores images on the memory card. The procedure for retrieving your pictures depends upon where they are stored on the camera.
Instructions
1. Connect one end of the camera's USB cable to your camera and the other end of the cable to the USB port on your computer.
2. Turn your camera on. This should trigger your computer to recognize the camera as an external device and prompt you to transfer the files.
3. Turn the camera off.
4. Remove the memory card from the camera, if you have one. The procedure will vary, depending upon your brand of camera.
5. Turn the camera back on if you removed a memory card. This triggers the computer's transfer process again of any photos stored in the camera's internal memory.
