Fix A Clogged Print Head Problem In The Hp Inkjet 1200

Missing elements of letters or images can generally be resolved by cleaning the nozzles and print heads of your printer.

Inkjet printers print using microscopic ink droplets that come from equally small nozzles. After your HP Business Inkjet 1200 printer has been in use for a while, you may notice symptoms such as printouts that are incomplete because they are missing small sections of letters or graphics. This can occur because the print heads are dirty or because the ink nozzles are clogged. Clean the print heads of your HP Business Inkjet 1200 printer to resolve this issue.

Instructions

1. Hold down the power button on the front of the printer and push the "X" button twice. The printer will begin a basic cleaning operation. Let go of the "Power" button.

2. Press the "Configuration Page" button. A test page prints. If the quality of the test page shows improved print quality, the issue is resolved. If the print quality remains unacceptable, continue to the next Step.

3. Hold down the "Power" button. Push the "X" button twice, then push the "Resume" button once. The Resume button looks like a printed page with a down-pointing arrow at the bottom. Let go of the "Power" button. The printer will begin an intermediate cleaning operation.

4. Print another test page. If the print quality is not improved, continue to the next Step.

5. Hold down the "Power" button. Push the "X" button twice, then push the "Resume" button twice. Let go of the "Power" button. The printer will begin a deep cleaning operation. When this is complete, the quality of the printer's output should be improved.
