MicroSD memory cards allow cell phone users to store more data on their devices, including video.
A MicroSD Card is a tiny plastic memory card that is commonly used in cell phones and other mobile devices. A MicroSD card is similar to the memory card used in digital cameras, only smaller. The card adds storage memory to the cell phone, allowing the user to free up space in the internal memory. With a MicroSD card installed, the user can save more media on the phone without affecting the phone's performance.
Instructions
1. Locate your cell phone's MicroSD memory card expandable-storage slot. This slot is usually a small opening in your phone's body. It is often found on the side of your phone, although it can be found within the battery compartment as well. The slot will be labeled "MicroSD" or "expandable storage device."
2. Insert the MicroSD memory card into the slot with the logo-side up. The gold-colored metal strips should be facing down. In some handsets, the card will slide in easily and stay snugly in place. With other handsets, you'll have to push the card in with your fingertip until it clicks into place.
3. Wait for the cell phone to auto-format the MicroSD card. Your phone will indicate that this is in progress, and will notify you when it is complete.
4. Save MP3s, videos, apps and contacts to the MicroSD card by adjusting your phone's settings to save newly-downloaded items directly to the card.
5. Transfer existing media files to the MicroSD card by following your phone manufacturer's instructions.
