Diy Teleprompter

You can place your script directly in your eyeline with a homemade teleprompter.

At one time, teleprompters were mostly a mainstay of network television production studios, but with the development of cheaper production equipment and diverse journalism outlets, teleprompters have found a life in lower cost production situations. Whether you perform news segments for public cable channels or demand a visual script for "on location" journalism, a teleprompter is a key tool. You can create a teleprompter with basic, store-bought materials.

Instructions

1. Cut the 1 inch-by-2 inches plank into eight equally sized pieces.

2. Combine four of the plank pieces, with the narrow sides of the planks facing downward, to form a square. Nail the pieces together using two nails at each end. Make a second square with the remaining four plank pieces.

3. Secure one side of the hinge, with two nails, to the middle of one wooden square. Combine the two wooden squares by nailing the other side of the hinge to the other square. The apparatus should now function like a mouth.

4. Center the two-way glass on one of the wooden squares, and glue the glass to the wood on all four sides.

5. Open the two wooden squares to approximately a 60-degree angle. Maintain this angle by diagonally driving a nail on each side of the wooden square that does not contain the two-way glass.
