The TiVo HD is a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) that is offered by Charter Cable systems. The device is capable of recording up to 32 hours of High Definition (HD) content and features two built-in digital tuners. Over time, you may encounter problems using your Charter-issued TiVo box. Fortunately, many of these issues can be resolved using simple troubleshooting techniques.
Instructions
1. Adjust your TiVo HD's channel settings if your DVR displays the wrong channel lineup or you cannot receive channels that you have subscribed to. Press the "TiVo" button on the top of your Charter cable-issued TiVo remote and scroll down to the "Messages & Settings" tab. Click on the "Channels" icon and select "Channel List." Locate your missing channels and check off the box to the left of them. This will allow you to access them when using the DVR.
2. Unplug the Ethernet cable or phone wire (depending on your setup) from the back of the TiVo HD if your DVR is frozen. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the TiVo HD and wait 15 seconds. During this period of time the device will reset itself. Plug the power cord back into the rear of the TiVo HD and wait as it powers on automatically. Resume using your DVR.
3. Adjust the positioning of your TiVo HD's wireless adapter if you are having trouble connecting to the TiVo service. Move the adapter as far away as you can from any devices that may interfere with it such as cordless phones and microwaves. Alternatively, move the wireless adapter closer to your wireless router to improve signal strength.
