The Treo 755p is a smartphone made by Palm that allows you to send and receive calls, texts, pictures and email. If your device begins to operate unpredictably, you may need to perform one of three types of reset. A soft reset is similar to rebooting a computer. A warm reset, also known as a system reset, is useful when your Treo 755p is stuck in a loop of repetitive actions. Perform a hard reset when you wish to reset your device to factory settings. With a hard reset, all of your data will be erased.
Instructions
Soft Reset
1. Press and hold the red "End" key to turn off the wireless radio.
2. Remove the battery cover from the battery compartment.
3. Remove the battery and immediately replace it.
4. Set the time and date when prompted. You should see the Palm logo, and then the "Preferences" screen.
Warm Reset
5. Press and hold the red "End" key to turn off the wireless radio.
6. Remove the battery cover from the battery compartment.
7. Press and hold the "Up" button on the device's keypad.
8. Remove the battery and replace it.
9. Leave the "Up" button depressed if you see a progress bar on the screen.
10. Release the "Up" button when you see "Palm Powered" appear on the screen.
11. Perform a soft reset after you determine that the warm reset solved the issue.
Hard Reset
12. Press and hold the red "End" key to turn off the wireless radio.
13. Disconnect the device from the charger or the USB cable. You cannot perform a hard reset when the phone is tethered.
14. Remove the battery cover from the battery compartment.
15. Remove the battery from the device and replace it.
16. Press and hold the red "End" key when you see the Palm logo on the device's screen. Continue to hold the "End" key until the black progress bar completes and then disappears. When you see the Palm logo again, release the "End" key.
17.Press the "Up" key to confirm the hard reset when you see the phrase "Erase all data?" appear on the screen.
18. Select a language when prompted by the device.
