Record A Vhs On A Phillips Dvp3345v/17 Dvd/Vcr Player With Direct Dubbing

Use the direct dubbing feature in the Phillips DVP3345V/17 DVD/VCR to copy from DVD to VHS.

Direct dubbing in a Phillips DVP3345V/17 DVD/VCR player is when you record to a VHS tape using the VCR side of your Phillips DVD/VCR player, from a DVD playing in the DVD side of your Phillips DVD/VCR player. It's called direct dubbing because both the device you're dubbing from and to are part of the same unit. The Phillips DVP3345V/17 DVD/VCR player features a DVD player and a VCR combined in the same device. While it is possible to dub video from the DVD player side to the VCR side, the direct dubbing from VHS to DVD is not possible.

Instructions

1. Make sure your Phillips DVD/VCR player is hooked up properly to your television set for viewing. Use RCA audio/video cables to connect the RCA output jacks on the Phillips DVP3345V/17 DVD/VCR player to the RCA input jacks on your TV. Then use your television's remote control to set your TV's channel input to correspond to the RCA input jacks you just used.

2. Insert a blank VHS tape into the VCR tape compartment on your Phillips DVD/VCR player. Insert the DVD you would like to dub to VHS tape into the DVD tray on your Phillips DVD/VCR player.

3. Arm the DVD side of your DVD/VCR player by pressing "DVD" on your DVD/VCR player remote control. Press "PLAY" on the remote control to get past the DVD menu and initiate DVD playback. Navigate to the section of the DVD where you would like to begin copying, then press "PAUSE."

4. Activate the VCR side of your DVD/VCR player by pressing "VCR" on the remote control. Press the "SPEED" button on your remote to set your desired recording speed to SP or SLP. The SP recording speed records faster, requiring more tape, resulting in a higher quality. The SLP recording speed records slower, utilizing less tape, resulting in a video quality which is not as good as that produced by SP.

5. Press the "REC" button on your DVD/VCR player remote control, arm the DVD side of the player, then press "PLAY" to resume DVD playback. If at any time you'd like to pause your VHS recording, in order to edit something out of your recording, or for some other reason, use your remote control to arm the VCR side of the DVD/VCR player, then press "PAUSE."

6. Stop the direct dubbing process by using your remote control to activate the VCR side of the DVD/VCR player, then press "STOP" to stop recording.
