Momentary switches sometimes look like toggle switches.
A momentary switch is great for electrical projects that require power to be interrupted on an electrical device after a short duration, according to Glen Baxter, a certified electrician. Momentary switches are used, for example, to control car horns, windshield washer fluid pumps and tractor lights. The most familiar example is the doorbell on your house. Momentary switches are everywhere, Baxter says; you just have to know where to look.
Instructions
1. Install a wire between the power supply and the momentary switch. Connect the wire to one side of each.
2. Attach the end of a wire to the other side of the momentary switch and connect the other end to the load. The device you are powering is called a load.
3. Connect the end of a wire to the other side of the load and attach the other end to the other terminal on your power supply.
4. Press the momentary switch and test your circuit.
