Speed Up An Htc 8925 Processor

The HTC 8925, more popularly known as the AT&T Tilt, is the model name for the AT&T designated variant of the HTC TyTN II (Kaiser). The processor used in the phone is the Qualcomm MSM7200 running at 400 MHz. The default operating system used in the AT&T Tilt is Windows Mobile 6.1. Speeding up the processor, which is referred to as overclocking, requires the OMAP and HomeScreen Plus UI -- Setup Installer applications. Overclocking voids the warranty of the phone as increasing the processor (CPU) speed can overheat the phone, which can force it to crash.

Instructions

1. Download OMAP and HomeScreen Plus UI -- Setup Installer (see Resources).

2. Connect the phone to the computer via USB cable. Copy and paste the downloaded programs to any folder on your phone.

3. Install the programs on your phone. Launch the HomeScreen Plus program.

4. Open the "OMAP" tab and check "Overclock to speed." You can also, optionally, check "Overclock on wakeup," if you want your CPU speed to boost every time you wake up your phone. You can also check "Overclock on reboot" if you want to boost the speed of your phone every time you turn on your phone; you will not have to change the OMAP settings every time you turn on your phone.

5. Click the "CPU Scaler" tab. Set the "Max" selection to any speed between 221 MHz and 231 MHz. The faster the CPU, the higher the battery usage.

6. Set the "Boost" selection to any speed between 234 MHz and 286 MHz; the faster the speed, the faster your battery will be drained when you are using your phone.
