Troubleshoot An Optima Video Projector

The Optima video projector is a device that can be connected to a television, computer or DVD player and used to emit larger video images on flat white surfaces. Occasionally you will run into trouble running the Optima video projector, but most of the time the issues stem from a cable not being properly connected or the settings being off slightly, all of which are easy to correct.

Instructions

1. Bring up the video input options on the Optima video projector. There will be a button on both the remote and video projector itself that will display all of the connections possible. If you believe you have your television or DVD player properly connected, the video projector is most likely just on the wrong video input.

2. Scroll through the inputs by pushing the up and down arrows. This will adjust through the inputs such as "Computer," "VGA 1, 2, 3," "VCR" and "DVD." If you are not sure what connection you would be hooked up to, wait a few moments on every selection. If nothing is connected, you will see a blue screen projected. If something is connected, you will see the image from the device.

3. Inspect the cable hookups if there still is no picture. If you are connecting a DVD player or VCR, check to see if the yellow RCA cable is properly inserted into the "In" port on the Optima projector and in the "Out" port on the DVD player. If you are using a computer, make sure the VGA cable is inserted securely into the projector as well. Loose or improperly inserted cables will result in poor or no image.

4. Check the sound cables. These cables are not inserted into the Optima video projector. You need to connect these cables to a stereo speaker system. Many stereo systems will have a red and white RCA input. You will need to connect the red and white RCA cables from the DVD player into stereo if you want to have audio. When connecting a computer, you will be able to hear the audio from the computer's speakers.

5. Check to see if the cap of the projector is off. If the device is powered on and you are not seeing anything projected, not even the blue screen, it is because the bulb is burnt out and you will need to replace it.
