Specifications For The Kenwood Kr6050

The Kenwood KR-6050 is a two-channel high speed stereo receiver with an AM/FM tuner and RCA inputs. The receiver is designed to be the center of a multi-unit stereo system. It includes two 120V AC jacks, allowing it to provide power for two other stereo components. It has six sets of RCA input jacks for maximum connectivity. The unit was manufactured in 1979 and 1980.


Audio








The on-board amplifier can put out 60 Watts per channel at 8 ohms from 20Hz to 20,000Hz. At 1,000Hz it can put out 65 Watts per channel over two channels at 8 ohms or 80 Watts per channel over two channels at 4 ohms. The total harmonic distortion is rated at a maximum of 0.02 percent at the maximum rated power at 8 ohms. The intermodular distortion is rated at a maximum of 0.01 percent at the maximum rated power at 8 ohms. The receiver allows for tone control, adjusting the volume of sounds in the 100Hz or 10kHz range by nine decibels in either direction, for accentuating bass or treble.


Tuner








The FM tuner is capable of receiving stations broadcast between 88 and 108 megahertz. The tuner's usable sensitivity is 10.3 dBf and the 50dB quieting sensitivity is 16.1 dBf in mono and 37.9 dBf in stereo. At 65 dBf, the signal to noise ratio is 83dB in mono and 75 dB in stereo. The total harmonic distortion is 0.08 percent in mono and 0.09 percent in stereo. The wide alternate channel selectivity is 30 dB at 300 kHz and the narrow alternate channel selectivity is 60 dB at 300 kHz. The AM suppression ratio is 65 dB and the stereo seperaration ratio at 50 dB is 1,000 Hz and at 40 dB it is 50 Hz to 10,000 Hz.


Physical and Power


The Kenwood KR-6050 accepts 120V AC power via a standard American outlet and draws 4.5 amps. The unit also includes two on-board power sockets to allow other audio units to draw power directly from the receiver. One of these sockets is switched, the other is not. The unit's net weight is 28.7 pounds. It is 20.31 inches wide, 6.06 inches tall, and 16.09 inches deep.
