Troubleshoot A Cannon I70 Printer Head

The Canon i70 printer uses inkjet technology to transfer the printer's liquid ink onto pages as they pass through the printer. A print head sits below each of the printer's two ink cartridges. The print head contains numerous nozzles that direct the ink droplets to specific landing spots on the page. If printouts from the machine look spotty or faded, the cause likely is from dried ink clogging the print heads.

Instructions

1. Click "Start" and select "Devices and Printers" or just "Printers." Right-click the Cannon i70 icon and click on "Preferences."

2. Click the "Maintenance." Select the "Cleaning" option.

3. Click on the radio button next to which print heads should be cleaned. Click on the "Execute" button.

4. Select "OK" to begin the print head cleaning. Wait until the printer becomes silent, indicating it has finished the cleaning.

5. Press and hold the "Resume" button until the LED light on the printer flashes twice. Examine the nozzle check printout for any breaks in the pattern.

6. Click on "Deep Cleaning," select "Execute" and click "OK" to clean the nozzles again.
