Copy Old Photos To A Digital Picture Frame

Before you can add your old photos to a digital photo frame, they must be converted to digital files.

Digital picture frames are a way to display a number of photos. The frames are designed to hold a number of digital pictures either in their internal memory or by loading a memory card into the frame. When the pictures have been loaded, the frame will display a continuous slide show of the pictures. If you want to add old pictures to a digital picture frame, you must convert them to a digital file by scanning them onto your computer's hard drive.

Instructions

1. Gently wipe away any dust that may have collected on the picture with a dry, soft cloth or towel.

2. Turn on your computer and flatbed scanner, and open the scanner's program in your computer.

3. Click on the "Settings" tab, or a similar tab depending on the program and scanner you are using, and select the scanning parameters for pictures; set the resolution to 72 dots per inch (DPI).

4. Place the picture face down on the flatbed scanner. Press the "Start" button on the scanner or click "Start" in the program.

5. Most scanner software creates a folder on your hard drive under "Documents" and "My Scans" where the images are placed.

6. Connect your digital frame to your computer with a USB cord.

7. Right-click on the folder containing your scanned photos select "Send to" from the drop-down menu that appears. Select the icon representing your digital frame and click "OK."
