Upload Pictures To A Flash Drive

Uploading photos is easy with a flash drive.

A flash drive is a device about the size of a AA battery that lets you transfer files from one computer to another. Whether you have photos that you want to show at the office, or you need to proof photos at home over the weekend for an upcoming presentation, you can easily move them onto a flash drive.

Instructions

1. Go to your desktop. Right-click, scroll down and click on "create a new folder." Give the folder a name. Double-click on the folder to open it. A blank window will appear.

2. Find the picture file or files you want to upload to your flash drive. When you find one, left-click on it and drag it into the blank window. The picture file will appear in the window and is now in the folder. Repeat this step with each picture that you want to upload to your flash drive.

3. Insert the metal end of the flash drive into a USB slot on your computer. You might hear a signal on your computer when the flash drive connects.

4. Hit the "Start" button at the bottom of your desktop. Scroll up and hit "My Computer."

5. Find the flash drive icon among the drives that are displayed.

6. Left-click on the the folder that you created in Step 1 and drag it onto the icon.

7. Hit the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in your system tray at the bottom right of your desktop. Your system might ask you which device you want to stop and remove. If so, choose the flash drive. Some systems also might indicate when it is safe to remove the device. Click the "OK" button if a dialog box appears.

8. Remove the flash drive from your computer.
