The Peterson iStroboSoft app for the iPhone incorporates some of the best features of Peterson's renowned tuning products in a convenient and portable solution. While the app works well with the iPhone's internal microphone, you may find that plugging a guitar or microphone directly into the device will give better results. You can create your own cable from inexpensive parts available at most stores.
Instructions
Creating your cable
1. Plug the 1/4 inch cable into your electric guitar or other instrument. If using an instrument or microphone with an XLR cable, you will need an XLR to 1/4 inch cable adapter.
2. Plug the other end of the 1/4 inch cable into the 1/4 inch to 3.5mm adapter.
3. Plug the 3.5mm end of the adapter into the iPhone's headphone jack.
4. Open the Peterson iStroboSoft app and test that the app is receiving the signal for tuning. You may need to turn up the volume on your instrument.
