Load Pictures From An Hp Photosmart Digital Camera Onto A Computer

Technology has made digital photography and archiving photos incredibly easy. With a simple click of the mouse, you are in charge of which photos are saved and which go to the recycle bin. However, digital cameras will only hold so many pics, so to keep your pics from accidentally getting deleted, you should transfer them to your computer. For added assurance, you can burn them to a CD for safe keeping. Follow a few steps to load pictures from an HP Photosmart digital camera onto your computer.

Instructions

1. Connect the camera to your computer using the USB cord that came with your camera. Once the camera is connected, turn on the camera. You will see a blue screen on the camera that says "Connecting."

2. Open the HP Photosmart software. The import screen will be displayed. Your computer will recognize that the camera is connected and start to download the pictures.

3. Monitor your transfer. There will be a percentage displayed showing how much information is being transferred. Once all of your photos have been loaded, the display will read 100 percent.

4. Click on the "Import" button that is located on the bottom right-hand side of the screen. Once again, there will be a percentage of completion on the screen as the photos are downloaded. As the photos are imported you will see them displayed.

5. Disconnect the camera and USB cord from the computer after the photos have been transferred.
