Take Pictures of Motion Water With a Nikon D40

Pictures taken using the "motion water" effect can be the most beautiful picture. Its make the water in the picture look like its moving. I will show you how the do this with a Nikon D40, but most DSLR camera will work as well.

Instructions

1. First switch your Nikon D40 camera to S mode. S mode is called shutter Priority mode. You can choose the shutter speed from values of 30s to 1/4,000s. Your camera will automatically select the aperture that will produce the best exposure.

2. Second, rotate the command knob dial to the desired shutter speed, which is displayed on the viewfinder or LCD screen on your Nikon D40.

Use a slower shutter speed to suggest motion by blurring moving objects, High shutter speed to "freeze" motion.

3. Third, move the dial on your Nikon D40 to the 30s mode.

4. Fourth make sure you put your Nikon D40 is on a tripod. Frame a photograph, focus, and shoot.
