Troubleshoot A Casio Exilim Charger

The Casio Exilim line of digital cameras comes with a removable, rechargeable battery and a charger. The battery usually doesn't need to be removed from the camera, as the camera can be plugged directly into the charger. Occasionally you may run into errors with the charger, such as the charge light flashing red or not lighting up at all. In these instances, there are a few things you can try before having your charger replaced.

Instructions

1. Slide the battery cover toward the outside edge of the camera to open it. Push the stopper towards the front of the camera to free the battery.

2. Remove the battery. Wipe the gold-colored connectors with a dry cloth.

3. Line up the arrows on the battery and the camera and reinsert the battery.

4. Move the camera and charger away from sources of extreme heat or cold. Allow the camera and charger to cool down or warm up to normal room temperature. A flashing red light means that temperatures are outside the acceptable range.

5. Plug the charger into a different wall outlet, then plug the camera into the charger.

6. If the camera battery still will not charge, contact Casio technical support (see Resources).
